Hi-Drive Contracting Ltd. is a family owned and operated oilfield and heavy construction company based in Hythe, Alberta, run day to day by Dennis Viken and his son Deven Viken. We've spent years working the leases, plant sites and back roads around the Peace Region, and most of our work still comes the same way it always has — a phone call from someone we've done right by before.
Being family run means the people quoting your job are the same people out on it. We keep our equipment maintained, our crews small and experienced, and our timelines honest. If a job needs more machine time than we first figured, you hear it from us before the invoice — not after.
That's the whole business: trust earned on site, hard work that holds up through spring breakup and freeze-up, and a handshake that still means something up here.

Land Reclamation
We strip, re-contour and re-seed abandoned leases and disturbed ground so the land drains properly and comes back to pasture or bush the way the landowner expects.
Lease & Plant Preparation
Clearing, grubbing, levelling and gravelling new well leases, battery sites and plant pads — built to spec and compacted so rigs and heavy trucks can move on them in any season.

Our kids went to school here, we shop here, and we run into our customers at the rink and the grocery store — so supporting what happens around town isn't marketing for us, it's just part of living here. Over the years we've backed minor hockey and ball teams, rodeo and fair days, school fundraisers, and the local halls and ag societies that keep small communities going.
When a community event needs gravel for a parking area, a machine for a few hours, or a hand setting up and cleaning up afterward, we do our best to say yes. The Peace Region has been good to our family and our business, and we'd rather put something back into the towns and country roads we work on every day than see them quietly go without.
